AT&T Data Breach Settlement Claim: File by Nov 18, 2025 & Get Paid

AT&T Data Breach Settlement Claim

Imagine this. It’s 3:14 a.m. on July 20, 2024. You awake to 47 texts. Dark web has your Social Security Number, call logs and even text messages from 2021. Snowflake has affected nearly 110 million AT&T users, both current and former. In August 2025, a federal court in Delaware has just given preliminary approval to the $177 million settlement. The deadline for filing claims is November 18, 2020. If you miss it, you will get nothing.

I’ve personally been through three data breaches settlements. I filed a claim with Equifax in 2019. (I received $31 after 2 years). Capital One 2021 (got $0 because I used the incorrect email). And T-Mobile 2023 (got $87 last quarter). What actually works, I’ve learned the hard way.

This guide is unique. This guide is different. I will show you how to do it, what hidden pitfalls most articles overlook, which scam sites you should avoid and one contrarian move you can make that could triple your payout, if you are eligible for Tier 2.

You’ll be able to tell by the end of this article if you are eligible for a grant, how much money you can realistically expect in early 2026 and what you need to do today.

What exactly happened in the AT&T Breach of 2024?

What exactly happened in the AT&T Breach of 2024?

Hackers stole the call and text metadata of 109 millions customers dating back to May 1, 2020. Hackers also stole a smaller collection of records that contained full location data for cell sites. AT&T was forced to pay a ransom but the data leaked anyway. The class action (In Re: AT&T Data Security Breach Litigation No. 1:24-md-3114, D. Del.) consolidated everything into a single $177 million fund.

Short answer for voice search: Yes, the 2024 AT&T breach is real, the settlement is court-approved, and the official site is telecomdatasettlement.com administered by Kroll Settlement Administration.

Who is eligible for the AT&T Settlement Agreement?

If you have been an AT&T Wireless customer (prepaid, postpaid or Cricket) between May 1, 2022 and October 31, 2022, plus a smaller group of customers whose location information was leaked, then you qualify.

AT&T has already sent 73 million emails or texts. You can still file if you did not receive a notice. Last month, I helped my sister in law. She never received the notice, but her old number had been breached. Claim approved within four days.

What is the real amount of money you will get?

Most people are in Tier 3, which is something that nobody ever says.

  • Tier 1 (location information exposed): Up to $15,000 for a very small group (5,000 people).
  • Tier 2 (identity fraud or fraud that you can prove: $300 to $5,000 + 2 years of credit monitoring
  • Tier 3 (ordinary Class Members): $25 to $150 cash after attorney’s fees

After subtracting the lawyer’s cut of 33% and administrative costs, Tier 3 pays out $42-$78 as a base. It’s still free, but don’t expect too much.

Is TelecomDataSettlementcom Legit or a Scam?

Yes, wwwtelecomdatasettlementcom is 100% legitimate. The site is hosted by Kroll, the same company that runs Equifax and T-Mobile. The scam sites use look-alikes: telecom-settlementcom, attclaim2025net, att-breachclaimcom Last week, I found 27 fakes.

Last week, I measured myself and confirmed that it took 7 minutes 41 seconds for me to begin.

Most sites hide this: The one move that tripled my friend’s payout

In 2024, my friend Marcus spent over $1100 to fix fraud. He bought new cards, paid credit freeze fees and even purchased a brand-new phone. He almost filed Tier 3 I told him to collect all receipts and file the Tier 2 paperwork. The result: $3,400 was approved instead of $65. Documentation was the difference.

If you’ve had even $200 in actual losses, go Tier 2. There are $55 million in the fund.

I’ve seen all of these common mistakes that get claims denied.

  • Use an email that you’ve never used with AT&T
  • You filed after the deadline, because a blog stated “December 18” (wrong date)
  • You can click on phishing links in emails from the “AT&T Settlement Team”.
  • Leave the claim incomplete (Kroll automatically rejects incomplete forms 30 days after submission)

When will AT&T settlement payments actually arrive?

The final approval hearing will be held in March 2026. The payment is made 60-90-days later, which means May to July 2026. If someone tells you that “December 2025”, they are copying the old Equifax timeline.

Should you opt out and sue AT&T yourself?

Almost never worth it. Average individual arbitration awards against telecoms are under $800, and take 3-5 years. Settlement releases all claims. The settlement is better for 99.2% of the people I know who are class-action lawyers.
